Color Temperature is expressed in degrees Kelvin(K). For example, northern blue sky is approximately 6700 degrees Kelvin - the same as our full-spectrum Vi-Tek 93® Plus. Fluorescent lamps with lower color temperatures look red; fluorescents with higher color temperatures look blue.
The sun is the ultimate light source by which all light sources are compared. Natural sunlight at noon from a color rendering standpoint is said to be at 100. The closer a lamp gets to a CRI of 100 the sharper colors are rendered, the better contrast is established and the “ease of seeing” creates a much more comfortable environment.
