The flexibility of spring steel allows the filament to "float" in place during heavy vibrations and shock.

Rugged filament construction

Supported at nine different points, the C-7A filament easily withstands shock and wind vibration that would shatter ordinary filaments. A sturdy spring steel arbor further resists vibration. Lead wires are individually fiberglass wrapped to prevent "arcing."

Mogul pre-focus nickel-plated brass base
