It's so bright, in fact—3,240 lumens from a 40-watt tube—that when energy conservation is a priority, two tubes can be used in place of the four conventional tubes you are now using.

This is a demonstration of 3 different light sources in the same fixture. The left hand picture has a 4,100 degree Kelvin lamp. In the center fixture there is a 5,000 degree Kelvin lamp and in the right hand fixture is the F32T8 Vi-Tek 93^® Plus. With the fixtures side by side you can tell which lamp has the best light output.
